Storey Tarris UK Diary Notes
I create a daily diary note but for the month of February, I have not posted on a regular basis. It has nothing to do with my artwork so why am I not interested in sharing?
I am adding the date back into my daily diary notes. In Edinburgh, the date was included in the artwork as a time stamp but when I moved to the fire swamp, I stopped using the date. Now that I’m commuting, I have to keep track of the days and the date is important.
This is a photograph of dawn from a commuter train. The image blurred from the speed of the train and a slow shutter speed. The image are digital and the colours have been altered a bit. From this series, I have layered a few of the images and those images will be part of the commuter series of photographs.
The morning commute is always new. Each day, the commute starts different and the photographs are different. I’ve been taking daily photographs in the fire swamp for two months and each day the photographs are different.
This photograph posted on Instagram of my January 13th commute reminds me of a painting. I did not use a filter on this image. The commute did the abstraction. The colours have been altered slightly for printing on the business printer.
I will have to add the date back into my Daily Diary Notes on Instagram. My new series does not always have a date attached to the printed photograph.
The current series of art pieces are digital photographs printed on a business printer. The artwork is then stamped with the date and some of the art pieces have poems written about them by Emmy Horstkamp. Some of the poems and artworks are located on Salaterre and some are located on PeaPodPen.
I’ve been working on the commuter series since December 2024. From August to December 2024, my days were filled with one location but that changed in December 2024 with a daily commute.
The new artwork does not use pigment Indian/Chinese Ink. The new series is inspiration for poetry and many of the artworks have poetry words written on the border in ink.
